And he walked them home afterwards
August 17, 2005
The most troubling thing in this entire story is “where were the parents?” The second most troubling thing is …” the suspect walked them home afterwards.”
On August 9, 2005, a Californian Sex Offender named Kenneth Bowling met two six year old girls on the bike path near Columbia Boulevard and Portsmouth and encouraged them to come home with him, to his nice house with a good place to pick blackberries. Once there, he pulled a knife on the girls and molested them. Afterwards, he took the girls back to the path and made sure they got home safely.
here is a map of where he allegedly did this.
My first question is - when did the girls’ parents learn that they were missing? Six is much too young to be on a bike path unsupervised in this day and age; even an eight year old trained in self defense would have been hard pressed to ignore his offers of sweet ripe blackberries.
And secondly, what was going through his mind, when he took them safely home?
